Hammers boss David Moyes is desperate to sign a top class centre-forward this summer.

The Scot currently has Michail Antonio as his only recognised senior striker at the London Stadium.

With time ticking down, getting a deal to sign a quality forward over the line will be paramount to our hopes of achieving success on all fronts next season.

West Ham make Breel Embolo enquiry

The Hammers have asked about the possibility of signing the 24-year-old hitman according to 90 Min.

The 48-capped Switzerland international impressed at EURO 2020 with his all-round play. He only scored one goal, however.

Embolo has been far from prolific throughout his career to date with just 57 goals in 226 games to his name (Transfermarkt).

The Gladbach ace does possess blistering pace, however. He was described as a ‘turbo charged’ forward by the Bundesliga’s official website.

The former Basel ace is incredible strong as well.

90 Min claims that West Ham are keen to bring Embolo to East London on a season-long loan. That would then free up funds for Moyes to strengthen in other areas of his squad.

Whether the Swiss forward is the man for the job at the London Stadium, however, is questionable. Yes he’s fast, yes he’s strong, but can he score goals in the Premier League on a consistent basis?

The answer to that question is not known. Surely West Ham would be better off signing a player with a proven track record in England, however. Someone like Tammy Abraham or Adam Armstrong.

Embolo could end up being a really exciting player to watch for the Hammers. He could end up being a disaster signing for West Ham as well. We think this is one we should be avoiding.
