West Ham are ready to rekindle their interest in Torino striker Andrea Belotti in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Italy.
Italian media source Calciomercato reports that West Ham submitted a bid for Belotti in January and still hold a ‘high’ interest in the striker.
The Hammers are likely to be in the market for a new forward with the futures of Marko Arnautovic, Andy Carroll, Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez all unclear.
West Ham face competition from Roma, who are also hoping to sign Belotti. Torino face a battle to keep him but West Ham and Roma’s interest could test their resolve.
Who is Andrea Belotti?
Torino striker Belotti has been impressive since his 2015 switch from Palermo. With 65 goals in 139 games for Torino, he is a proven striker in Serie A.
The 25-year-old has hit double figures for the past four seasons but his 2016/17 tally of 28 in 38 put him on the radar of some top clubs across Europe.
This season, Belotti has scored 12 times in 30 matches to help Torino in their quest for European qualification.
The 20-cap Italy international could leave Torino after four seasons with the Italian side for another Serie A project in Roma or a Premier League challenge with West Ham.
