West Ham are interested in signing Rangers hitman Alfredo Morelos this summer, according to the Daily Record.
The Hammers need to be very wary of moving for the Colombian, however.
Morelos, 23, is a prolific goalscorer, that cannot be argued. He has bagged 49 in 92 for Rangers over the past two years.
The South American scored 30 goals in 48 games last season for Rangers.
His discipline, however, was shocking. He received five red cards last season, with the majority of them coming after angry and sometimes violent reactions. And West Ham can’t afford to take what would be an expensive risk on the striker.
Sky Sports claims that the Gers want around £20 million for the 23-year-old, and that would quite simply be better off spent elsewhere.
The Hammers are closing in on a deal to sign Sebastien Haller, according to the Telegraph, but Manuel Pellegrini will still want another established forward to join his ranks this summer.
Morelos quite simply isn’t that man, however. He has proven time and time again that he is a liability for Rangers. And West Ham could do without that next season.
