The Express claims that Queens Park Rangers will demand £20 million for Eberechi Eze this month, and West Ham must do everything they can to bring him to the London Stadium.
The Sun reported in November that the Hammers want to sign the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.
Eze, who can also operate on either wing, has been in excellent form for the Hoops this season.
He has racked up 10 goals and six assists in 26 Championship outings. And he seems to have all of the attributes needed to be a real success in the Premier League.
Eze is powerful, full of energy, and plays with a certain kind of dynamism that would totally transform West Ham’s play through the middle of the park.
The QPR starlet has great stamina and his energy is infectious.
For just £20 million, the Hammers can’t afford to miss out on the England under-21 international.
West Ham really have to focus on lowering the average age of their first-team squad, whilst not compromising on quality.
And Eze would be the perfect January addition.
The Express claims that Tottenham also want the QPR youngster, but are unwilling to match his £20 million price-tag.
And West Ham need to swoop in and take advantage of their London rivals’ indecisiveness.
Whether David Sullivan and David Gold will be prepared to spend such a fee on a player who is unproven in the Premier League, however, is another matter entirely.
