West Ham United have missed out on signing Pharrell Willis with the London-born winger deciding to sign a new long-term deal with Middlesbrough, according to a report from 90Min.

It is encouraging to see that the Hammers seem to be intent on signing top quality youngsters.

David Moyes recently brought two Chelsea youngsters to the London Stadium on trial.

And it seems as though the Hammers boss wanted to bring another top class young talent to the club.

The 18-year-old winger has turned down a move to East London in order to remain with Middlesbrough according to a report from 90Min.

Willis is clearly a top class and very exciting young talent.

He has racked up nine goals and one assist in 25 games for Boro’s youth teams this season (Transfermarkt).

It obviously still remains to be seen whether the 18-year-old has what it takes to make it at the very highest level. The early signs are very encouraging, however.

And in a few years time Willis may well be another name to add to the list of brilliant players who West Ham nearly signed!

And who knows? Perhaps the Hammers will go back in for the Middlesbrough ace further down the line if he proves himself at senior level.
