West Ham are now being linked with a move to sign Atletico Nacional youngster Jhon Solis this summer.

According to a report from Colombian media outlet Caracol, West Ham and Brighton both want to sign the 18-year-old midfielder, and one of those two clubs have had a $5 million (£4 million) summer transfer window bid accepted for him.

Hammers boss David Moyes has already bolstered his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer, with the additions of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.

However, he is still on the hunt for more summer signings.

The latest name to be linked with a move to West Ham would be a signing very much for the future though…

In all honesty, if Brighton want him, he must be good!

He has bagged four assists in 37 senior appearances for Atletico Nacional (Transfermarkt).

The Colombian teenager possesses very impressive technique, and he plays with typical South American aggression and tenacity.

£4 million is a real bargain fee for someone with so much talent and potential. However, it must be said that he has absolutely no experience of English football, and signing someone so young from South America always represents somewhat of a risk.

That said, I still think signing Jhon Solis this summer will be well worth the risk for West Ham. After all, £4 million is absolute peanuts in this day and age, when it comes to the Premier League.
