The Hammers’ need for a new striker has been well-documented already this summer.

As things stand, however, we appear to be nowhere near close to actually signing anybody.

Martin Braithwaite is a name who has been persistently linked with a move to West Ham over the past year or so.

And now it appears as though the East London outfit have made a concrete attempt to sign him.

West Ham make Braithwaite bid

The 30-year-old Barcelona ace is the subject of a firm bid from the Hammers according to Sport.

The general consensus is that David Moyes could and should be setting his sights a lot higher than Braithwaite.

So with that in mind, it is encouraging that Sport are reporting that Tottenham want to sign the Barca man as well. And here’s the kicker…Braithwaite wants to join Spurs instead of the Hammers.

Happy days!

Let’s hope that the powers that be at West Ham just walk away from this one.
