West Ham United are expected to make some big moves in the market before the January transfer window closes in six day’s time.
Graham Potter has a lot of work to do between now and Monday, if he is to guide West Ham to a successful second half of the season.
It’s been all change at West Ham this month, with Potter having replaced Julen Lopetegui and Kyle Macaulay taking up the head of recruitment mantle after Tim Steidten’s role became untenable.
We need to bring at least two top-class signings to the London Stadium this month.
Potter has already shown us what he can do, after the exceptional second-half performance against Aston Villa on Sunday.

So can you imagine what he’ll be capable of if the Hammers owners back him to the hilt?
The good news is that it seems like the West Ham board are prepared to provide Potter with the funds he needs.
West Ham make January window bid for ‘incredible’ winger
The Hammers will undoubtedly make some big moves in the market over the course of the next six days.
Potter will be well aware that his current squad isn’t strong enough to finish inside the top 10 this season, and that has to be his goal now.
West Ham are currently missing Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug to long-term injuries.
Meanwhile, Jarrod Bowen has only just returned to full training.
And it seems like Potter is intent on bolstering his attacking ranks before the January window slams shut.
However, I’m not sure that our latest target is the man we need, not for the here and now anyway.
According to a report from, West Ham have lodged a £25 million bid for Baris Alper Yilmaz – one that was swiftly rejected by Galatasaray.
Galatasaray have allegedly already promised Yilmaz that he can join the Hammers, but not until the summer.
And West Ham should be patient and just wait until the end of the season before we make a move for him again.
West Ham should sign Yilmaz in the summer
The 24-year-old Galatasaray winger is a sensational player on his day.

However, Potter has far more pressing issues to address in the January window.
For starters, the Hammers head coach needs to sign a proven centre-forward and a box-to-box midfielder as a matter of urgency before Monday’s deadline.
That said, Yilmaz is definitely someone we should keep on the back-burner for the summer.
The 24-year-old has been described as ‘incredible’ by beIN SPORTS, and they’re spot on.
Yilmaz is an exceptional talent who is incredibly versatile as well – he can play on both wings and through the middle if need be.
He has racked up 10 goals in 19 Super Lig games for Galatasaray this season, and he can be a real game-changer on his day.
I would love to see Baris Alper Yilmaz join West Ham, but a move to sign him in the January window would make little sense in my eyes, given the desperate need for reinforcements elsewhere.
