West Ham are pushing to bring former Hammer Sorba Thomas full circle as their replacement for Crysencio Summerville, a top journalist has claimed.
Hammers fans have been growing increasingly frustrated by the fact the club are yet to make a single new signing this summer.
Majority owner Daniel Kretinsky, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and captain Jarrod Bowen have all made it clear an immediate return to the Premier League is West Ham’s aim and expectation this season.
So fan fears over a lack of arrivals are somewhat understandable with the Championship campaign now less than three weeks away.

Because according to leading football journalist Alan Nixon, West Ham have made a £10m plus move to bring ex Hammer Thomas back home as their Crysencio Summerville heir.
Hammers legend Frank McAvennie said West Ham are in for a ‘long, hard season’ after watching their drab 0-0 draw at Rangers on Sunday.
Skipper Bowen also said West Ham’s performance was not good enough as he sent a clear message to Kretinsky and Nuno about the standards he expects after sacrificing Champions League and Premier League football to stay with the club next season.
Well that seems to have given West Ham a bit of a wake-up call if a new report on Nixon’s Patreon is anything to go by.
Because the Scottish reporter claims West Ham are pushing to sign Welsh star Thomas to ‘fill a gap in their promotion-chasing squad’.
Crucially, Nixon states that Thomas, who scored 10 goals and laid on 11 assists in 45 appearances for Stoke last season, is open to the move back to West Ham, where he came through as a youngster.

West Ham have plenty of money to spend as their finances are being boosted by over a quarter of a billion pounds through the £155m sales of Summerville and Mateus Fernandes and Kretinsky buying an additional 16 per cent of the club for £90m.

The Czech billionaire is also said to be willing to inject a further £100m by way of a loan to fund Nuno and Koppen’s West Ham rebuild.
Whether that rebuild gets underway by signing 27-year-old Thomas remains to be seen.
But the winger certainly fits the profile of player the Hammers are looking at this summer, those who need no time to adapt to – and know their way around – the Championship.
Nixon claims Stoke will struggle to keep Thomas and could be open to a quick deal so they can sign replacements.
Thomas was in West Ham’s Academy for over three years from the age of 12 before being released at 16 and moving to Boreham Wood.
The Barking-born star could now come full circle to help his old club back to the big time.
