West Ham have made an enquiry about Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu, according to reports.

As per The Sun’s live transfer blog on deadline day, Watford have rejected a £22m bid from AC Milan for Deulofeu as West Ham enquire.

But Watford will demand £30m for the ex-Barcelona winger, who also also played for Everton.

Deulofeu came through the ranks at Barcelona, playing six times for the Spanish giants before a loan move to Everton.

He scored four goals in 29 games for the Toffees in 2013/14 and joined them permanently after a loan spell at Sevilla.

Barcelona triggered their buy-back clause on the four-cap Spain international in 2017, following a loan spell at AC Milan, but sold him to Watford shortly after.

Since joining the Hornets permanently last summer, the 24-year-old has chalked up a tally of three goals and three assists in 17 outings.

Watford are keen to keep Deulofeu and have slapped a £30m price tag on their winger amid interest from AC Milan and West Ham.

West Ham’s winger situation

West Ham are desperate to add players to their squad late in the January transfer window with a striker potentially arriving.

But Deulofeu is unlikely to materialise given his price tag, the fact that Watford are direct competitors and because the Hammers do not need wingers right now.
