West Ham are the latest club to take an interest in Sunderland starlet Josh Maja, TEAMtalk can reveal.
Maja is being tracked by a host of clubs in England, Scotland and on the continent due to his impressive performances this season.
Josh Maja: potential bargain
The Sunderland wonder-kid is out of contract at the end of the season and he has turned down a £6,000-per-week offer.
Maja wants to earn double those wages but Sunderland cannot afford to pay him that. This has other clubs lining up a potential bargain deal.
West Ham could line up a pre-contract agreement to bring the Londoner back down to the capital.
Alternatively, Sunderland want a bargain £4m for their academy graduate if he is to leave this month, according to The Sun.
Who is Josh Maja?
Maja is rated as one of the most promising young strikers in England and he has made the step up to senior football this season.
Prior to this campaign, Maja had played 19 games for the Black Cats, scoring once in the Championship against Fulham.
This season, the 20-year-old has established himself as the starting centre-forward in League One, racking up a remarkable tally of 16 goals in 30 games.
Considering he was a teenager until late December, Maja’s goal scoring record is extremely impressive, earning him many admirers.

West Ham are one of several clubs keen on Maja. According to this report, West Ham face Premier League competition from Newcastle United.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough, Celtic, Rangers, FC Koln, Wolfsburg and Stuttgart are all in the hunt for this potential bargain.
And according to The Sun, Cardiff City have launched a £2m bid for Maja, which is halfway to Sunderland’s valuation.
