West Ham could turn to Stevan Jovetic in their deadline day hunt for a new striker, according to reports.
As per The Guardian’s live deadline day transfer blog [11:52AM], Monaco striker Jovetic is a potential target for the Hammers.
This update by The Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg mentions that West Ham could offload one of Lucas Perez and Javier Hernandez.
In turn, the Irons might swoop for Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea but face a battle to convince him to move.
Jovetic is an alternative option for Manuel Pellegrini, who worked with the striker at Manchester City in the past.
Who is Stevan Jovetic?
Jovetic currently plays for Monaco, where he has been since his move from Inter Milan in 2017. He has netted 11 goals in 28 games for the French club.
The 29-year-old scored 11 times in 44 games during his two-year spell with Manchester City and has also played for Fiorentina and Sevilla in his career.
But with game time hard to come by this season, the Montenegro international could be tempted by a move to West Ham.
He would team up with Pellegrini, who worked with Jovetic during their time together at Man City.
