Central midfield is certainly an area where David Moyes will want to strengthen this summer.
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek need far more competition and cover.
And it seems as though David Moyes wants to bring one of his former players to the London Stadium this summer.

The Daily Mail claims that Moyes is eyeing a swoop for the 27-year-old Blues man.
Barkley can play anywhere in midfield and in more advanced roles as well.
We just think that this is one West Ham should avoid.
Barkley, who earns £96k-a-week (Spotrac), spent last season on loan with Aston Villa.

And let’s be frank, he didn’t pull up any trees.
The Hammers have enough attack minded midfielders and wingers at the club already.
The Express & Star reckon that Chelsea could demand as much as £30 million for Barkley as well!
There is absolutely no way that West Ham should be paying anywhere near that for the Blues midfielder.
David Moyes has far more pressing matters at hand. The Scot may well be a big fan of Ross Barkley. He gave the 27-year-old his debut 10 years ago when the duo were at Everton.

Barkley just hasn’t fulfilled his potential, however. And we think he’s not good enough to make a difference for West Ham.
