West Ham insider responds to concern over Sebastien Haller’s muted goal celebration

West Ham United boss David Moyes enjoyed the perfect start to his second spell in charge on New Year’s Day.

The struggling Hammers had just two wins from 14 going into the crunch game against Bournemouth.

But Moyes got an instant response from his team as they put in their most complete performance of the season to convincingly win 4-0.

Host of positives as Moyes makes winning start

There were a host of positives for West Ham.

Mark Noble’s man of the match display, Felipe Anderson’s performance, the continued good form of Pablo Fornals, the four goals, a clean sheet and of course record £45million signing Sebastien Haller getting himself on the scoresheet with a wonderful strike.

But there was some concern after the game from a section of supporters over Haller’s celebration, or lack of one.

When Haller scored previously, he has looked delighted.

But his superb volleyed goal against Bournemouth was met with a very muted celebration indeed.

Some saw it as simply relief after a torrid run for the striker and the team.

Others felt it could be a sign Haller is unhappy with life at West Ham.

The lack of celebration from the Frenchman was put to reliable Hammers insider ExWHUemployee.

And the Twitter and radio personality said he has not heard anything to suggest Haller is unhappy.

“I am hoping this is just his “current celebration”,” ExWHUemployee said on Twitter.

“Haven’t heard anything to suggest otherwise.”

That will come as a relief to fans.

The last thing West Ham need is their only proven striker wanting away after just six months.

Life may not have panned out as Haller expected in East London so far.

But six goals at the halfway stage is not the worst return. And if he can go on a bit of a run there is no reason he cannot end the season with at least 15 goals for the Hammers.
