Well-informed insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini will be given funds to sign another striker and a defensive midfielder following the impending exits of Pedro Obiang and Marcus Browne.
The Hammers have already been busy this summer.
Pellegrini has brought in Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals on big money deals. Backup goalkeepers David Martin and Roberto have also been added to the squad.
And if West Ham can get one or two more deals over the line before next month’s deadline, they will be in a great position from which to challenge for the top six next season.
The Hammers certainly need another striker, having sold Marko Arnautovic, and released Andy Carroll.
And another central midfielder will not go a miss, with Obiang heading to Italy.
Quite who Pellegrini is targeting, however, remains to be seen.
ExWHUemployee took to Twitter, and suggested that the West Ham boss will be given funds to strengthen further still this summer:
The Hammers have been linked with plenty of names recently
The most prominent one, however, has been Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel (Fanatik).
Strikers linked with a move to West Ham include Moussa Marega (The Sun), Mario Balotelli (The Sun) and Fernando Llorente (Daily Star).
And Pellegrini will be desperate to get a deal for at least one of those names over the line.
These must be exciting times for West Ham fans.
A push for European football seems like a realistic aim next season.
And this summer’s transfer window could very well go down as one of their most successful in recent times.
