Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for the 21-year-old throughout the summer.

And The Athletic claimed recently that Blues boss Frank Lampard is lining up a £60 million January swoop for the 10-capped England international Hammers ace.

Rice moving from the London Stadium to Stamford Bridge would be a massive blow for David Moyes, regardless of what fee we may end up receiving.

But high level West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh have provided an encouraging update.

They suggest that Rice will be going nowhere in January, whether we are challenging for the European spots or are embroiled in another relegation battle.

Let’s just hope that the 21-year-old does end up staying in east London, because losing him is unfathomable.

Stats

In 106 Premier League games for the Hammers, Rice has racked up 263 tackles, 15 blocks, 173 interceptions, 184 clearances and 724 ball recoveries (premierleague.com).

The West Ham starlet has a truly great future ahead of him.

The ultimate dream is that he is given the chance to achieve his goals with the Hammers. And judging by Claret and Hugh’s report, the West Ham owners have no interest in selling Rice as things stand.

So it’s good news all round.
