West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh have claimed that the Hammers are not currently interested in signing Nottingham Forest full-back Matty Cash, contrary to recent reports.

Sky Sports reported in January that the Hammers submitted a £10 million offer, one that could rise to £12 million, for the 22-year-old Forest right-back.

According to a report from the Sun, however, Nottingham Forest were demanding £18 million for Cash.

And Football.London have claimed that West Ham could go back in for the right-back this summer.

And now Claret and Hugh claims that the east Midlands outfit could actually demand closer to £25 million for the talented youngster.

The reliable Hammers insiders also suggest that Cash is NOT currently on West Ham’s radar.

Forest ace would be a great signing nonetheless

Perhaps not for £25 million. But if common ground can be found, the 22-year-old would be a superb addition for the Hammers.

The Forest ace was speaking to Sky Sports recently, and he suggested that he is well aware of the interest in his signature from the east London outfit:

“My agent had a few chats with me. There were a few conversations but I had a job to do at the time and a few games to focus on. But I heard about the interest, yeah!”

Stats

In 36 Championship outings for Forest this season, Cash has racked up three goals and four assists (Who Scored).

In those appearances, the 22-year-old has averaged 2.8 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 2.8 clearances per game (Who Scored).

But, as things stand, it seems as though West Ham will not be pursuing Cash.

At least until the current global health crisis has been and gone.
