Insider reveals who Pellegrini has scouts watching

But now reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has revealed what Pellegrini has tasked his scouts with this summer.

Speaking on Twitter, ExWHUemployee said West Ham are focusing on scouting players at the Euro Under 21 Championships, in particular the French.

“We have a number of scouts watching the under 21s tournament this summer,” ExWHUemployee volunteered on Sunday.

“French players being particularly looked as well as a couple of other nations.

“No signing is close at this point.”

Strikers West Ham might be looking at

With a striker the top priority at the moment that might mean West Ham are keeping an eye on long-term target Moussa Dembele.

The other forwards in the French U21 ranks are Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jonathan Bamba and Marcus Thuram – son of France great Lilian.

That would tally with West Ham’s keen interest in the French market of late.

The East Londoners have been linked with Lorient forward and France U20 star Alexis Claude-Maurice as well as Maxime Gonalons and Morgan Sanson.
