The Hammers paid a £3.5 million loan fee for the 25-year-old, and could make the signing a permanent one in the summer for a further £13.5 million, according to the Guardian.
Claret and Hugh has claimed that the Hammers WILL permanently sign the Czech Republic ace in the summer if they avoid relegation this season.
Soucek has really impressed for West Ham since making his January switch to the London Stadium.
Stats
In four Premier League games, the 25-year-old has racked up eight tackles, eight interceptions, 12 clearances and 10 ball recoveries. He has also won 23 individual duals and 13 aerial battles (premierleague.com).
The Czech’s athleticism, energy and determination has added so much to the way in which the Hammers play.
Signing him permanently will be crucial for West Ham, as they look to make progress next season.
But recent claims suggesting financial turmoil lying in wait for the Hammers has put the deal to sign Soucek into doubt.
ExWHUemployee has suggested that their shouldn’t be any problems, however, if West Ham avoid the drop:
If the Hammers do stay up, and sign Soucek for a total amounting to £17 million, it will be great news for the east London outfit.
The Czech is clearly a player who will flourish in the Premier League.
And that fee could end up looking like a real bargain for West Ham.
