Days after doubt was cast over Samir Nasri’s West Ham United future it appears there has been a surprise twist.

Nasri has been impressive in pretty much every game he has played since joining the Hammers in January.

Indeed he was key to West Ham’s dramatic late 4-3 comeback win over Huddersfield last time out.

But in the wake of that game the French playmaker was somewhat coy on his future with the club (Evening Standard).

‘I don’t know about my future… we will see what is next’

“I don’t know about my future,” Nasri told The Evening Standard.

“The most important thing for me was to come back, which I did in January. Then I got an injury because I wasn’t used to playing week in week out when I have been out of the game for so long.

“Now the manager takes his time with me.

“I have seven games left. And I just want to play free of injury and then we will sit down and see what is next.”

Playmaker submits new £90k a week demands

That was followed by reports Nasri wants another £20,000 added to his basic £50,000 salary.

That would take his weekly wage over the £90,000 mark when his £20,000 appearance bonus is factored in, read full story here.

West Ham fans are keen to see the classy midfielder remain in East London.

The club was said to have an option on a one-year extension to the deal for the 31-year-old.

Insider reveals Nasri could sign unexpected deal

So supporters will be heartened by news from well-informed West Ham insider ExWHUemployee this week.

The anonymous Twitter and radio personality claimed on his latest show that the club were in discussions over not just a one-year extension but or a potential TWO-YEAR deal to keep the former Manchester City and Arsenal man with the Hammers.

That went down well with fans. And many took to Twitter to highlight how much of a bargain Nasri is, pointing out just how expensive it would be for the club to sign a like-for-like replacement.
