West Ham United are apparently lining up a move to sign a top-class player in the January transfer window.
However, it is an understatement to say that he has a checkered past!

Julen Lopetegui is under real pressure at West Ham right now, and as things stand, it’s very much unclear as to whether he will still be in charge at the London Stadium at the end of the January window.
West Ham need to strengthen all over the pitch this winter, regardless of which manager we have at the helm.
The Hammers have seriously underperformed this season with Lopetegui in charge.

It has been claimed that the Spaniard could be sacked if West Ham lose heavily to Manchester City, and that would be more than deserved.
However, the transfer team behind the scenes absolutely should be getting their ducks in a row now.
It’s time to make a big statement signing in January.
West Ham in talks to sign Italy international in the January window
The Hammers need to make a couple of ambitious moves in the transfer market this winter, if we are to make some real progress.
Whoever is actually in the Hammers hot-seat is irrelevant – the point that we desperately need strengthening remains the same.
And it seems like West Ham are eying up a really ambitious move.
According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, West Ham are currently in talks to sign Nicolo Fagioli from Juventus in the January window.
Central midfield is certainly an area where the Hammers needs to bolster, and the Italian could well be the man we need right now.
However, his problems away from the pitch may well serve as a big red flag for the powers that be at West Ham.
Fagioli was banned for seven months back in October 2023 after being found guilty of gambling (Daily Mail) – a strict no-no for professional footballers.

However, he’ll now be hoping to get his career back on track.
Described as an ‘incredible’ player by Yahoo, the 23-year-old central midfielder is an elite talent.
He has obviously had serious problems in the past, but hopefully those dark days are well and truly behind him now.
The seven-capped Italy international has energy and athleticism in abundance, possesses exceptional technical ability and he is actually a very hard worker.
Juventus are said to be desperate to sell Fagioli , and they are prepared to accept a fee worth around £16.6 million for his signature.
For that price, signing Nicolo Fagioli in the January window should be a no-brainer for West Ham.
