West Ham United are reportedly now in talks to sign a forward very late on transfer deadline day.
Deadline day is approaching its conclusion, and West Ham are still trying to get a late deal done, with talks to sign Ismaila Sarr thought to be underway.
Hammers boss David Moyes has signed Kalvin Phillips in the January transfer window but that’s nowhere near enough, if we are to challenge for the top six in the Premier League this season.
Our squad lacks any kind of attacking depth, and we’ll get found out in the end if no additions are made, I have no doubts about that.
However, it seems as though the club are doing their best to change all of that before 11pm tonight…
West Ham in talks to sign 25-year-old forward late on deadline day
According to Dean Jones, the Hammers are in talks to sign Ismaila Sarr, 25, from Marseille.
Jones told Give Me Sport:
“So they’ve been offered the opportunity to sign Sarr and early negotiations are now taking place over the possibility of that happening. I mean, we probably shouldn’t get too carried away because this is the sixth deal of this type that West Ham have tried to do across this month. They’ve looked at various options.”
The thing is, I would take Sarr purely because he’d be another body that we so desperately need.
Said Benrahma is gone whilst Pablo Fornals seems all set to join Real Betis. If Moyes fails to bring anyone through the door before the transfer window slams shut, it would have been a really poor window for the Hammers.
West Ham are apparently in talks to sign Sarr on deadline day and if we can get that deal done, it will be a late consolation for the Hammers fans.
Sarr has only been at Marseille for six months, and has bagged four goals and two assists in 21 games for them (Transfermarkt). He possesses real pace and power, and would offer us something completely different if nothing else.
