West Ham have just been handed a massive Sam Johnstone boost

West Ham United have been handed a big boost with the Mirror reporting that West Bromwich Albion will sell Sam Johnstone this summer.

It will be vital for David Moyes to bring a top class goalkeeper to the London Stadium over the course of the next year.

Lukasz Fabianski has been a top class stopper for us. It is clear to see that the 36-year-old has been on the decline over the past 12 months, however.

Sam Johnstone is a name who has been persistently linked with a move to West Ham over the past few weeks (ESPN, The Telegraph and The Evening Standard).

The 28-year-old West Brom ace would be a superb addition for the Hammers.

The Mirror claims that with the Baggies’ relegation now confirmed, Johnstone will leave the Hawthorns at the end of the season.

This just has to be a deal that the Hammers get done asap. We will regret it if we don’t act fast enough.

The Athletic claims that the 28-year-old could be available for just £7.5 million this summer. That is truly outstanding value.

Since joining West Brom, Johnstone has been a real hit. In 128 games for the Baggies, he has let in 175 goals whilst keeping 30 clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, the West Brom stopper cuts an imposing figure. He is dominant in the air and a great shot stopper. The Baggies ace is a very impressive communicator as well.

£7.5 million for the 28-year-old would be an unbelievably good bargain. And the report claiming that he will almost certainly leave West Brom should be a big green light for West Ham.
