The Hammers’ need for a top class striker is clear and obvious for everyone to see.
Michail Antonio is currently the only recognised senior centre-forward at the London Stadium.
West Ham have been linked with a whole host of strikers since Sebastien Haller left for Ajax back in January.
And it seems as though the Hammers have finally made a concrete move for one of them.

West Ham have Giovanni Simeone bid rejected
The 25-year-old Cagliari striker has been the subject of a loan with an option to buy offer from the Hammers according to a report from Calcio Mercato.
The Serie A side have allegedly rejected that bid, however.
Let’s not get too downhearted, however.
The Argentinian striker really isn’t the man we need to sign this summer.

He scored just six goals in 33 games for Cagliari last season (Transfermarkt). His career record makes for pretty grim reading as well with just 70 goals in 251 games to his name (Transfermarkt).
West Ham need to sign a striker who is proven in the Premier League. And if they don’t have experience of playing in England, they need to possess a seriously good goalscoring record. Simeone obviously has neither of those two things.
The rejected bid for the Cagliari ace may well be a blessing in disguise.
