West Ham appear to have been handed a boost to sign Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in the January transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo is eyeing a new goalkeeper as he wants to bring in quality through the door to give West Ham the best chance of avoiding relegation.

How much confidence does the win over QPR give you heading into Spurs? 👀

Oh, how sweet it would be to start to turn things around against them 😍

The Hammers have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, and the Portuguese is desperate to address that.

Wolves pull out of Antonin Kinsky race

According to Football London, a number of sides are keen on signing Kinsky in the January transfer window.

While Spurs want to keep the 22-year-old at the club, he could be leaving on loan in order to get regular game time.

West Ham are keeping tabs on the Czech goalkeeper and will be thrilled that they will not have to fend off competition from Wolves for his services.

But who is the Hammers' next number one?

The bottom-placed Premier League side had shown an interest in securing his services, but have since cooled their interest.

There is understood to be concern from Kinsky’s camp that he may not play again this season, as Spurs have been knocked out of both domestic club competitions.

This could pave the way for his departure in the current transfer window.

Apart from the Hammers, Auxerre, Besiktas and Freiburg have also made checks over the goalkeeper’s availability.

What has been said about West Ham target Kinsky?

Ange Postecoglou was the Tottenham manager when Kinsky was signed and he has waxed lyrical over the keeper.

Despite the youngster making an error in a game against Aston Villa, the Australian manager believes that he has the potential to be an outstanding keeper.

“I’ve been really happy with [Kinsky],” Postecoglou said in 2025. “Even at Villa, obviously, you know he made the mistake, but his reaction to that was I thought outstanding for a 21-year-old in that environment to bounce back from a mistake like that.

“We’ve thrown him in and given him some enormous tasks with very little sort of preparation, and I just think he’s going to be an outstanding goalkeeper.”

It remains to be seen if Nuno sees Kinsky as an upgrade on Alphonse Areola.

If not, the Spurs keeper may consider other options as he primarily wants game time and he is not going to get that in North London.
