West Ham United allegedly could now sign Benfica striker Darwin Nunez for just £50 million in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a a report from A Bola who claims that the Portuguese club will now start listening to offers of around €60 million (£50 million) for the 22-year-old forward.

The Scot needs to bring in some proper competition and cover for Michail Antonio.
The 32-year-old has been our only centre-forward option for nearly 18 months now and that clearly isn’t acceptable for a club with aspirations of achieving success both domestically and on the continent.
Darwin Nunez is a name who the Hammers have been linked with since we made a move to sign him on deadline day in the January transfer window (90 min and Sky Sports).
And just yesterday A Bola, covered via Sport Witness, claimed that West Ham are keen to sign the Uruguayan ace in the summer.
It had been suggested that Benfica wanted around £67 million for Nunez (A Bola). It appears as though he could be available for a lot less now though…
West Ham could sign Darwin Nunez for reduced fee
A Bola reckon that Benfica will now start the bidding at £50 million for the 22-year-old striker. That would be unbelievable value for West Ham considering just how good Nunez is.
The Portuguese outfit will obviously be keen for a bidding war for the 22-year-old’s signature. If that doesn’t materialise though, £50 million would represent a really good deal for us.
Nunez’s playing style is quintessentially South American. He is a tenacious presser, plays with real physicality and has real technical ability. The 22-year-old seems to be ideally suited for the Premier League what with its intense and robust nature.
Nunez has bagged 26 goals in 33 games for Benfica this season (Transfermarkt). He’s about as prolific as they come
The 22-year-old is fast, great in the air and has absolutely everything that West Ham need in a striker.
£50 million seems like an absolute steal. So much so that we think he will go for a lot more than that come the summer.
Let’s just hope that the West Ham board are ready to go big for Darwin Nunez at the end of the season.
Because as we mentioned earlier, he’d be the absolute ideal summer signing for us.
