ExWHUemployee predicted yesterday that West Ham could sell Manuel Lanzini in the summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (Wednesday, March 4th), and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the reliable insider’s latest claim.

The Argentine was an instant fan favourite in east London, when he joined West Ham on loan for the 2015/16 campaign. He then joined on a permanent deal the following summer for around £9 million (Daily Mail).

He really impressed during his first couple of years with the Hammers. But this season has been a total disaster for the 26-year-old.

Lanzini has made 19 Premier League appearances for West Ham this term. And he has racked up just two assists and no goals (premierleague.com).

The South American has attempted just 19 shots on goal, with an underwhelming accuracy rate of 37%, and he has created only two big chances (premierleague.com).

Aside from the stats, his attitude has been called into question on more than one occasion. Many fans believe that Lanzini simply isn’t interested in playing for West Ham any more.

And some Hammers fans want the midfield play-maker moved on in the summer…
