The 30-year-old Champions League, Premier League and Serie A winner is now available on a free having recently been released by Brescia.
The enigmatic Italian has enjoyed an incredibly eventful career to date. The striker possesses incredible talent, but unfortunately for him, he has made more headlines off the pitch than he has on it.
Balotelli has only just turned 30, however. So it could be argued that the Italian still has a few years left playing at the highest level. And if the former Manchester City and Liverpool hitman can focus and work hard, as unlikely as that may be, he might yet have a lot still to offer.
He is a free agent, so perhaps a move to sign him would involve minimal risk.
Balotelli is currently training with Serie D club Franciacorta. Surely West Ham don’t need him though. Or do we?
Some Hammers fans called for David Moyes to bring Super Mario to the London Stadium…
Realistically, this will never happen.
David Moyes insists on hard work and tireless running from his players. And we all know that Balotelli quite simply doesn’t offer that.
The Italian is a real maverick, and he would undoubtedly be a popular figure at the London Stadium. But we just cannot see this one happening at all.
Moyes is looking to bring young and hungry players to West Ham. And that in itself makes it highly unlikely that the Hammers will make a move for Balotelli. Certainly while the Scot is in charge at least.
