According to a report from Turkish-Football, West Ham are interested in signing Lille right-back Zeki Celik in the summer, and some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
Right-back is clearly an area where West Ham need to strengthen in the summer.
Pablo Zabaleta is set to leave at the end of the season, whilst the jury is still out on Ryan Fredericks.
And it seems as though Celik would be a fine addition. The Hammers would obviously have to avoid relegation this season, however, if they are to have any chance of signing the 14-capped Turkey international in the summer.
Turkish-Football claims that West Ham have performed several scouting missions on the 22-year-old.
In the 2018/19 campaign, Celik racked up five assists in 34 games for Lille (Who Scored). So he is obviously an attacking full-back. He also linked up incredibly well with Nicholas Pepe down Lille’s right-hand side during that particular campaign.
The Turk’s arrival at the London Stadium would provide some real competition for Fredericks, and would hopefully bring out the best in the former Fulham man.
Some West Ham fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news that Celik could be a target for the Hammers in the summer…
