According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham want to sign £50 million-rated West Ham ace Issa Diop, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
Signed from Toulouse for £22 million in the summer of 2018 (BBC Sport), the 22-year-old has really impressed for the Hammers.
He is currently out of the team, however, with Angelo Ogbonna and Fabian Balbuena forging a solid partnership.
Diop has many years ahead of him though, and will undoubtedly go on to become a truly top class performer.
With that in mind, West Ham will not want to sell the Frenchman to their bitter rivals Tottenham. Although they will surely find it hard to resist if they are offered anywhere near £50 million for his services.
With Winston Reid and Ogbonna both on the wrong side of 31, the Hammers really need to keep hold of the Frenchman, however.
Some West Ham fans seem to be split on the potential of selling Diop to Tottenham. They took to Twitter after the report claimed Spurs want to sign the 22-year-old…

Diop for wanyama, plus cash

It’s an easy story to make considering, but being that on average, a player only stays with us for 2-3 seasons, I wouldn’t be too surprised if he went and considering we’ve apparently will have a small budget. Gwad knows how much it’ll be in the summer window 🙈

If we sell Diopp to the Spuds and employ Harry Redknapp as manager, I would hand my season ticket back.
