West Ham have identified Queens Park Rangers defender Ryan Manning as a potential target, according to London Football News.
Manning has less than one year remaining on his contract, which has alerted both West Ham and Watford. Both Premier League clubs could target a bargain deal for the 23-year-old – either in January or on a free transfer in the summer.
However, QPR have an option to extend Manning’s contract by another year and they will almost certainly take this up. Mark Warburton has used Manning frequently this season and he has played a key role in the West London club’s promotion push.
Manning moves to left-back
The Irishman has switched from midfield to left-back this season. But he has made the transition seamlessly and has been one of QPR’s most consistent performers.
Just before the international break, he registered his third assist of the season, providing an inch-perfect cross for on-loan Hammers striker Jordan Hugill to head in. He could compete with Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku at West Ham.
Here are some tweets from West Ham fans discussing a potential bargain deal for Manning.
Decent versatile player, I’d take that

Ryan Manning has had a great season for QPR and would be a good addition as cover in the West Ham squad. Hopefully wouldn’t be another Sam Byram who struggled to make the step up. Would be sensible business if West Ham signed him on a free transfer.
