The West Ham owners are admirers of Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi, according to a report from the Guardian, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
Current Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is under real pressure. His side have won just one out of their last 10 Premier League games.
And they have slipped down to 16th spot in the table. They are just one point clear of the drop zone, and panic has started to set in.
The Chilean’s job is allegedly on the line this weekend. If West Ham lose to Southampton on Saturday, the 66-year-old will surely be sent packing.
And Inzaghi would be a fine replacement. He has worked wonders during his time in charge of Lazio. And his team are currently flying high in third position in the Serie A table.
Convincing him to swap the Italian capital for east London might be very tricky indeed for West Ham, however.
