West Ham fans react to report linking Abdoulaye Toure with London Stadium switch

According to a report from France Football, West Ham are interested in signing Nantes midfielder Abdoulaye Toure this month, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The Hammers are really lacking a certain kind of physical presence in the middle of the park at the moment. And their ability to address that issue between now and the end of the month could be the difference between relegation and survival this season.

France Football claims that West Ham want to sign Toure on loan with an option to buy. Nantes would prefer to sell the Frenchman for around £12.7 million, however.

And the Hammers should surely just pay up. The Nantes ace would certainly bring that physical presence that the east London outfit so desperately crave.

Standing at 6ft 2in tall and powerfully built, the 25-year-old is an imposing figure.

Toure is also someone who really puts himself about defensively. According to Who Scored, the Nantes midfielder has averaged 1.3 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 0.6 clearances and 0.3 blocks per game in 19 league outings this season. He has also won 1.7 aerial duals on average per game.

His distribution is solid too, with an impressive pass completion rate of 85.4 per cent (Who Scored).

He does seem to be exactly the kind of player who the Hammers need.
