The Guardian claimed yesterday that West Ham are eyeing a loan move for Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The east London outfit desperately need cover in the right-back department. 35-year-old Pablo Zabaleta is currently covering for the injured Ryan Fredericks. In truth, however, neither of those two players have impressed this season.

West Ham are often easy to get at down the right-hand side. And neither Zabaleta nor Fredericks offer that much going forward either.

The Guardian claims that the Hammers want Spurs full-back Kyle Walker-Peters on loan for the rest of the season to help solve that particular issue.

Is the 22-year-old the answer though?

The Tottenham man has played just 12 Premier League games for the north London outfit, and he has a pretty poor tackle success rate of just 65% (premierleague.com). He has also made just 10 interceptions and 15 clearances in those outings.

Walker-Peters undoubtedly has talent, but it is debatable as to whether he could make an instant impact for West Ham. There is also the small matter of Spurs actually allowing one of their players to join their bitter London rivals.

Perhaps Tottenham will consider it, given the fact that the Hammers represent no direct threat to them this season?
