According to a report from Sky Sports, West Ham are in talks to sign Amiens hitman Serhou Guirassy on loan this month, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news.
The east London outfit desperately need more strength in depth in attack. £45 million summer signing Sebastien Haller has struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium, and his lack of goals is making it incredibly hard for West Ham to win games.
There are massive questions marks as to whether Guirassy would be the man for the job for the Hammers, however.
He joined Amiens from Koln for £5 million last summer (Sky Sports).
The 23-year-old has scored just five goals in 18 games for Amiens this season. Hardly prolific numbers. The forward also has just one assist to his name during that period (Transfermarkt).
He has also averaged just 1.8 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.7 successful dribbles per game in 17 outings this season (Who Scored).
It seems as though he is more of a target man striker, with 4.1 aerial duals won per game this term (Who Scored).
It could be argued that he isn’t the man West Ham need. The Hammers desperately require a goal scorer – someone to just put the ball in the back of the net on a consistent basis.
And some West Ham fans appeared to be underwhelmed by links with Guirassy, taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations…
Four goals in French football by the end of Jan? Amazed the big boys are all over him with that record!
