According to a report from the Telegraph, West Ham want to sign Newcastle full-back Javi Manquillo in January, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
The east London outfit have a real problem in both full-back positions.
At right-back, Pablo Zabaleta is leaving in the summer and Ryan Fredericks has failed to impress this season.
Whilst at left-back, the jury is still out on Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell is unreliable from a fitness perspective.
West Ham fans want their club to spend some serious cash to strengthen both positions.
And whilst Manquillo has been decent for Newcastle this season, he certainly won’t be expensive.
The Telegraph claims that the Spaniard, 25, could be available for just £5 million.
The harsh reality of the matter is that Manquillo quite simply hasn’t impressed anywhere he’s been in England. And a move for the former Atletico Madrid man reeks of a classic Sullivan and Gold swoop.
