According to a report from French publication Foot Mercato, West Ham are prepared to pay £27 million for Porto’s prolific striker Moussa Marega this summer.
The Hammers have already signed Sebastien Haller for £45 million from Eintracht Frankfurt (Sky Sports).
And it seems as though Manuel Pellegrini’s business is far from finished.
West Ham do really need another centre-forward in truth. They have already sold Marko Arnautovic and released Andy Carroll this summer.
If they are to make a real push for the top six, more competition is required for Haller and Javier Hernandez.
And Marega could be just the ticket for the Hammers.
The 28-year-old racked up 21 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for Porto last season.
And he seems to be tailor-made for the Premier League, what with his robust playing style.
Newcastle are also reportedly keen on signing Marega, however, so West Ham won’t have things all their own way.
Some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation…
