West Ham fans react to links with Celtic ace Olivier Ntcham

French media outlet Foot Mercato claimed yesterday that West Ham are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The east London outfit are incredibly weak in the central midfield department. That’s in spite of adding Tomas Soucek to their ranks.

And Ntcham could be a very useful addition.

The 23-year-old is an orthodox central midfielder by trade, but has been converted into more of a number 10 by Neil Lennon this season (Herald).

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Ntcham has racked up six goals and four assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for Celtic this season (Transfermarkt).

The Frenchman describes himself as a player who can operate in a variety of midfield positions, but someone who prefers playing further forward, as quoted by esdfanalysis:

“Although I’m capable of playing deeper, in a ball winning role, I prefer being higher up the pitch creating chances. In a 4-3-3, I’m comfortable going from box to box, but it’s the role of the playmaker, the number 10, that suits me most. In any case, that’s where I prefer playing.”

He is also described as ‘athletically competent, quick and strong’ by esdfanalysis.com.

The bad news for West Ham fans is that ExWHUemployee has poured cold water on the rumours linking the Frenchman with a move to the London Stadium:

Ntcham is a player who will surely improve with age and experience, and his reported value of £14.4 million (France Football) seems like a very fair price.

Some West Ham fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news that the Celtic man could be a potential target for the Hammers…
