According to Turkish media outlet Fotospor, Fenerbahce want to sign West Ham left-back Arthur Masuaku this month, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The 26-year-old, who earns £40,000 per week according to Spotrac, joined West Ham from Olympiacos for around £6 million in the summer of 2016 (Sky Sports).

Masuaku has been extremely inconsistent since moving to the London Stadium, however.

In truth, his only impressive displays have come when he has been deployed in an attacking role. The Democratic Republic of Congo international’s defending leaves a lot to be desired. And that is worrying considering the fact that he is a left-back by trade.

Fotospor claims that Super Lig outfit Fenerbahce could move for the West Ham man this month.

And if the Hammers can get a decent fee for Masuaku, it might just make sense to move him on. He has hardly been convincing during his time in east London, and selling him might just give David Moyes the chance to upgrade in what is a very important position.
