West Ham are young midfielder Grady Diangana on loan to the Championship. West Bromwich Albion are set to sign Diangana on a season-long loan, according to trusted insider EXWHUEmployee.
The 21-year-old was on the fringe of the first-team squad and will head out to gain some experience. Derby were in the hunt too, as per The Express & Star. But West Brom seem to have won the race.
Slaven Bilic has taken over at West Brom and will take Diangana to The Hawthorns. West Brom won their opening Championship game of the season and Diangana will be joining a promotion push in the West Midlands.
The left-footed midfielder broke into the Hammers team last season after an impressive debut. Diangana netted twice in the EFL Cup against Macclesfield Town and later made over 20 appearances for the Irons.
Manuel Pellegrini rates Diangana highly and has since rewarded him with a long-term contract. The England U20 starlet has featured in pre-season but a loan spell could be beneficial for all parties.
West Ham fans took to Twitter to discuss this and opinion seemed divided. Here are some tweets from Hammers supporters about Diangana’s move to West Brom.
To be fair he looks like he’s put some muscle for pre season which was needed a stint in the championship will rough him up to add to that and come back even more complete ! Good luck fella !

I’m torn. On one hand, we know he needs minutes and to work on his game inside the box. On the other hand, he came in handy last year. But with Yarmo back and healthy *touch wood* he will be hard pressed for minutes as it looks like Fornals will also rotate on the right wing?

This is perfect for both parties. If he tears up the championship then he comes back a better player with more experience and know how #coyi defo one for the future

Feel a bit sorry for Diangana, you could see how much the goal against Hertha Berlin meant to him. I’m sure he felt this could be a breakthrough season at West Ham

Good move for him imo, think he has the potential to be great but a season in the championship will do wonders for him.
