West Ham United look to be on the verge of selling wantaway striker Marko Arnautovic to a Chinese club.

According to Sky Sports a senior West Ham source has told them a deal has been agreed.

Sky claims the source says the deal is ‘terrible’ for West Ham.

But the club’s hierarchy insist they were left with little choice as the manager, players and staff ‘wanted him out’.

‘Terrible deal’

The deal is reportedly worth just £22.5million. That is the same amount West Ham paid Stoke for the Austrian two years ago.

Some fans will be disappointed that once again player power has been allowed to prosper at West Ham.

Others just simply want him gone.

But what supporters really want to know is one crucial detail. When is Pedro Obiang going to remove Arnautovic from the West Ham WhatsApp group.

Anyone who followed the Dimitri Payet saga closely in 2017 will get the hilarious reference.

Payet had downed tools to try and force a return to Marseille.

WhatsApp claim that went down in Hammers folklore

And back then The Sun reported that his fed-up teammates deleted Payet from the squad’s WhatsApp group.

The comedic tale went on to make a claim that has since gone down in Hammers folklore.

“Mark Noble and James Collins used the app to tell the striking Frenchman he was no longer considered part of the team as he tries to force a move,” The Sun claimed.

“Then group administrator Pedro Obiang said Payet was not welcome on the team conversation and deleted his number.”

Pedro’s final act?

It seemed unbecoming of the softly spoken gentleman Obiang.

The midfielder himself looks to be on his way out West Ham this summer.

But before he leaves he knows he must make one last contribution to his Hammers story, remove Arnautovic from the WhatsApp group.

Never a dull moment at West Ham.
