West Ham fans go wild as David Moyes is linked with summer swoop for Manchester United ace Dean Henderson

According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, West Ham have lodged an enquiry for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson. And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

Strengthening the goalkeeping department might not be David Moyes’s priority this summer.

If we look closely at the situation though, it could be argued that a younger upgrade on Lukasz Fabianski is necessary.

That’s nothing against the 35-year-old. He has been brilliant for West Ham since moving to East London in the summer of 2018 for around £7 million (BBC).


The 55-capped Poland international is out of contract in the summer. Even if he signs an extension, West Ham should be looking to sign a long-term replacement for him.

And Dean Henderson would surely be the perfect upgrade on Fab.

The 23-year-old Red Devils stopper is allegedly frustrated at playing second fiddle to David De Gea. He could look to leave Old Trafford in the summer (Manchester Evening News).

There is a big problem for West Ham, however. Henderson is valued at around £40 million by Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester Evening News).

It does seem highly unlikely that the Hammers would pay anything like that for a goalkeeper given the current financial climate.
