According to a report from the Daily Star (Sunday April 12th, page 41), West Ham are interested in signing Tottenham ace Eric Dier, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

David Moyes will surely be keen to bolster his central midfield ranks this summer. Carlos Sanchez is almost certain to leave at the end of the season. Mark Noble, meanwhile, will be 33 in May. And Declan Rice has been heavily linked with an exit from West Ham.
If the 21-year-old England international does end up leaving the Hammers, it will be pivotal for Moyes to bring in a top class replacement.
And the Daily Star claims that Tottenham ace Eric Dier could be an option for West Ham.
The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014 for around £4 million (BBC).
And the 40-capped England international has gone on to rack up 11 goals and 11 assists in 235 appearances for Tottenham (Transfermarkt).
Dier, who earns £70,000 per week according to the Daily Star, has made 169 Premier League appearances for the north London outfit.
And in those outings, he has made 284 tackles, 244 interceptions, 494 clearances and 706 ball recoveries.
The 26-year-old Tottenham ace has also won 780 individual duals and 384 aerial battles (premierleague.com).
Dier has been in very poor form over the past year or so, however.
And some West Ham fans seemed to be far from happy with links to the Spurs ace…
If and when Declan Rice leaves West Ham, we need to find a player of top quality to try and overcome the massive hole his absence will leave – Eric Dier is definitely not the answer, despite being available for a cheap price. Dier would be a massive step back.

Nobody ever has, or ever will ‘need a Dier’.
I’m not doing the whole thing here where you slam opponents’ players for the sake of it. I genuinely do not see him as a professional footballer. Every time he’s selected for England I die a little inside.

Absolutely no way, he’s a spud through & through actually grudgingly admire him as he cant stand us so it would never happen. Plus he has been awful last couple of seasons.

Dreadful player. We sign him, I give up.

Don’t want him. Be on a massive wage too. Loads of dough for a bang average player.
