West Ham fans excited by Sander Berge links

ExWHUemployee claimed yesterday that West Ham are interested in signing Genk midfielder Sander Berge this month, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The Hammers desperately need to improve their central midfield department.

Declan Rice has been very impressive for West Ham over the past 18 months, but his partner Mark Noble is not getting any younger.

The 32-year-old Hammers skipper lacks any kind of pace, power or dynamism, and that is something that the club’s scouts must be looking at when running their eyes over potential targets.

Aside from Rice and Noble, David Moyes has little to choose from in central midfield.

So signing someone like Berge this month would be hugely important for them.

The 6ft 4in ace already has 20 international caps for Norway to his name – no mean feat considering he is just 21-years-old.

The Genk starlet is powerful, has plenty of energy, and is incredibly comfortable in possession.

Berge really would be a very exciting addition for West Ham. And he would be a superb long-term partner for Rice.

Bleacher Report claimed last month that the Genk midfielder could be available for just £20 million.

Whilst the Daily Star suggest that he is keen on a switch to east London.

Some Hammers fans took to Twitter, sharing their delight upon hearing that the Norwegian could move to the London Stadium this month…
