It is unlikely that West Ham will sign Queens Park Rangers ace Ryan Manning this summer because David Moyes doesn’t rate him, according to ExWHUemployee. And some Hammers fans have reacted to the news on Twitter.
The Hammers began the summer transfer window in desperate need of signing a new left-back.
Since then, West Ham have switched to a 5-4-1/3-4-3 formation, however. And our new system means that Arthur Masuaku has been given license to operate down the left hand flank.
That doesn’t mean that we don’t need more competition in the left wing-back role, however.
And QPR ace Ryan Manning would have been the ideal signing. His ability to play in central midfield would have solved another issue for us too.
But ExWHUemployee reckons the 24-year-old won’t be rocking up at the London Stadium anytime soon…
QPRs Ryan Manning is very unlikely to join the club as the manager “doesn’t rate him” pic.twitter.com/gEVLFuQDes

Manning racked up four goals and seven assists in 41 Championship games for QPR last season (Who Scored). So he is clearly a very attacking left-back.
In those outings, the Irishman averaged two tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.7 clearances per game (Who Scored).
Those numbers prove just how effective Manning can be. So it really is strange that Moyes doesn’t rate the 24-year-old.
And some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to Ex’s claim…
Who does he bloody rate the dozey git. Had all transfer window to identify our problem positions and here we are still wasting our time on targets he ‘doesn’t rate’.

Didn’t rate Maddison. Look where that ended up. Not sure I have much faith is moyes character judgements tbh

This is the same Moyes who didn’t rate Maddison and signed Hugill. Not saying Manning will be a world beater but would be useful as can cover two or three positions which with our wafer thin squad could be vital.

This is a joke would be about 5 mill for a young hungry player Who would be LWB and CM cover. Plus I’ve watched Manning before and he looks very good

Doesn’t rate him so why was he interested in him in July ? Makes no sense lol makes you wonder who wanted him sully maybe 😂

Who actually does he rate ? He’s very slow in finding out ,too small , too tall , to ginger etc , then takes Dawson after wanting tarkowski , joke owners and joke manager
— ongarhammer (@AnthonyMelman) October 13, 2020
Are the club not worried about the lack of depth at LWB?

I thought he was the managers target originally. Oh well, just goes to show Moyes isn’t a master of spotting championship gems like he thinks

I’m going to disagree with Moyes on this one as I disagreed with him on Maddison & Dendoncker too.

Well we don’t rate the manager so that’s tough. He’d be great.
