The Hammers began the summer transfer window in desperate need of signing a new left-back.

Since then, West Ham have switched to a 5-4-1/3-4-3 formation, however. And our new system means that Arthur Masuaku has been given license to operate down the left hand flank.

That doesn’t mean that we don’t need more competition in the left wing-back role, however.

And QPR ace Ryan Manning would have been the ideal signing. His ability to play in central midfield would have solved another issue for us too.

In those outings, the Irishman averaged two tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.7 clearances per game (Who Scored).

Those numbers prove just how effective Manning can be. So it really is strange that Moyes doesn’t rate the 24-year-old.

And some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to Ex’s claim…
