West Ham are interested in signing Napoli ace Hirving Lozano, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, and some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
If the Hammers stay up this season, they really must try and bring the absolute best quality into the club in the summer.
Whether Lozano is the man for the job, however, is debatable.
The 24-year-old joined Napoli from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2019 for around €42 million (£36 million), according to Goal.
And he has racked up just three goals and two assists in 25 outings so far this season (Transfermarkt).
The 39-capped Mexico international produced incredible numbers during his time with PSV, however, with 40 goals and 23 assists to his name in 79 appearances for the Eredivisie outfit.
He recored 21 goals and 12 assists for PSV last season (Transfermarkt).
Lozano can play on either wing or as an auxiliary centre-forward. He has proven that he is capable of producing at the very highest level in the game, in spite of his poor form this season with Napoli.
In truth, however, it could be argued that the Hammers should be prioritising signings in other areas of the pitch.
And some West Ham fans took to Twitter in reaction to the report linking the Mexican with a move to the London Stadium…
