Calcio Mercato claims that the Toffees are keen to bring the 30-year-old back to the Premier League this summer.

That comes after Calcio Mercato suggested just a few days ago that Hammers boss David Moyes has his eye on the 63-capped Wales international.

The Scot will be keen to bolster his midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

So it is no surprise to see West Ham being linked with a move to sign a box-to-box player like Ramsey.

It seems as though the Welshman could be plying his trade at Goodison Park next season, however.

West Ham face battle with Everton for Aaron Ramsey

Calcio Mercato claims that the Toffees have joined the Hammers in the race to sign the three-time FA Cup winner.

Gazzette dello Sport recently suggested that Juventus will demand around £21 million for Ramsey.

The 30-year-old joined Juventus on a free transfer in the summer of 2019 after his contract had expired with Arsenal.

Ramsey, who earns a whopping €7.5 million per year after tax in Turin (Calcio Mercato) was a great player in his day.

The highest earners in Italy are taxed at a rate of 43% so that means that the former Gunner essentially earns around £220k-a-week before tax.

He has suffered numerous injury problems over the past few years, however. And they have surely taken their toll on the Welshman from a physical perspective.

On his day, however, the silky midfielder is a truly top class player.

Arsene Wenger once described the 30-year-old as the best box-to-box midfielder in the Premier League, as quoted by Arsenal’s official website:

“Physically, he has a combination of stamina, power and his capacity to repeat high intensity is certainly the best in the league.”

Perhaps he’s got a few years left playing at the very highest level. The 30-year-old would be a decent addition for West Ham considering his technical ability and fantastic engine.

Everton joining the East London outfit in the race for Ramsey will make David Moyes’s task of signing him a whole lot more complicated, however.
