West Ham are closing in on their second winter signing, according to reports. Sky Sports News believe that Mesaque Dju will join West Ham today.
Benfica winger Dju will be West Ham’s second signing of the winter window after Samir Nasri joined on a free at the end of December.
Mesaque Dju to West Ham
Dju is set to complete his move to West Ham today after flying in to London for a medical and some talks.
The Hammers are set to land the Portuguese youngster from Benfica on a free transfer and he will join up with the under-23 side.
The Sun adds that Benfica will have a 50 per cent sell-on clause for any future sales.
Who is Mesaque Dju?
The Portugal under-20 international plays for Benfica B and the Benfica youth team, operating predominantly as a right winger.
During his time in Portugal’s youth squads, he has won the under-17 Euros in 2016 and the under-19 Euros in 2018.
Dju was born in Guinea-Bissau but he has decided to represent Portugal on the international stage.
The 19-year-old is renowned for his pace, skill and direct approach, although his end product has been questioned before. He joins fellow Portugal youth attacker Xande Silva in East London.
