West Ham will almost certainly sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal from Manchester United this summer according to a report from club insiders Claret and Hugh.
The 28-year-old had a huge impact at the London Stadium after joining the Hammers on loan in January.
Lingard was sensational for West Ham, racking up nine goals and four assists in just 16 Premier League games.
David Moyes led the Hammers to a sixth placed finish last season. And Jesse’s goals, assists and performances in general played a key role in our superb top six finish.
Signing him on a permanent deal will be a hard task for West Ham, however.
The 28-year-old’s fine form in East London aroused the interest of other clubs whilst Manchester United could also be tempted to keep him now.
West Ham to sign Jesse Lingard
Claret and Hugh claims that a deal to sign the 28-capped England international is now nailed on.
Let’s hope that ends up being the case because Lingard is so important to this team.
One major sticking point could be how much Manchester United demand for Jesse’s services.
He has just 12 months remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford so they surely can’t get too greedy.
Let’s just hope that we manage to sign him for £15 million, perhaps £20 million tops.
