Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be busy between now and the end of the month.

It seems as though West Ham have signed Jesse Lingard on loan for the remainder of the season (Sky Sports).

We are in desperate need of further reinforcements, however.

The addition of an established centre-forward will be paramount to our hopes of finishing inside the top six this season.

It seems as though a right-back is on our radar as well though.

West Ham to sign Gonzalo Montiel for a bargain?

El Intransigente claims that the Hammers want to sign the 24-year-old this month. In fact, El Intransigente suggest that we have already made a bid for him.

Montiel is a very solid player. But we surely should be prioritising in other areas before the transfer window closes.

Perhaps this is one we should revisit in the summer when the Argentina international will be available on a free transfer.

With his tenacious tackling, Montiel’s playing style is quintessentially South American, so he seems to be ideally suited to the robust and intense nature of the Premier League.

West Ham spending £6 million on a right-back this month just seems slightly unnecessary, however.
